Shigella flexneri’ye bağlı ishal sonrasında akut böbrek yetmezliği gelişen olgu

Bacillary dysentery is an acute diarrheal illness characterized by abdominal cramping, fever, and the mucoid, bloody stools. In fecal exam, an increase in the number of leukocytes and a positive stool culture are observed. It usually defined as a self-limiting infectous. In severe cases, liquid-electrolit theraphy and antibiotic are applied. In this case report, a 72 year old female patient who had acute renal failure due to Shigella flexneri , had recovered with ciprofloxacin and fluid and electrolit theraphy and had not received dialysis treatment is presented.
