A review on recent advancements in fused deposition modeling

Abstract Fused Deposition Modeling is a process of additive manufacturing that serves the purpose of producing high quality products at a low processing time. Many research works shows the advancements of the FDM process in recent years. The main aim of the process is to produce complex products at a less processing time. FDM process has its advancements in various fields of application. There are many research works in the optimization of the process parameters. The research work is carried out for the creation of new materials that can be used in the FDM process. The paper reviews the research works done in the advancements of the new materials, optimization of the process parameters, application in the bio-medical field and the use of the Taguchi method and the ANOVA technique in the optimization of the process parameters and the effects of FDM in the industrial revolution 4.0.
