Clinical application of Pentacam anterior segment system

Objective To investigate the application of Pentacam anterior segment system in the early screening of angel-closure glaucoma and the quantitative evaluation of combined glaucoma and cataract surgery.Methods The Pentacam anterior segment analysis system was applied in 25 senile volunteers (25 eyes),25 acute angle closure glaucoma and cataract patients(25 eyes),and 25 chronic angle closure glaucoma and cataract patients (25 eyes).The morphological parameters of anterior chamber,including anterior chamber depth (ACD),anterior chamber volume (ACV) and anterior chamber angle (ACA),were measured.They were compared with the paramenters 1 d,7 d,30 d after combined glaucoma and cataract surgery respectively.Results The three parameters were significantly higher in senile volunteers than that of patients in the two glaucoma groups,the differences had statistical significance.There were no significant differences in three parameters between the two glaucoma groups.The three parameters significantly increased after combined glaucoma and cataract surgery compared with that of preoperation in two glancoma groups.Conclusion The Pentacam anterior segment analysis system can quantitatively evaluate the changes of morphological parameters of ocular anterior segment after combined cataract and glaucoma surgery,providing reference for the evaluation of prognosis.
