GENERALIZED ASSESSMENT METHOD: RULES AND GUIDELINES

The Certification and Assessment of Safety Critical Application Development (CASCADE) project was set up to understand the European market requirements for assessment and certification services in the railway and automotive sectors, and to develop through real applications a harmonized Generalized Assessment Method (GAM) for software intensive safety critical applications. This paper describes the CASCADE project. The technical summary of the GAM method, a key result of the project, is also presented.
