Foldable Motor Integrated Low Voltage Inverter for an Electrical Power Steering Application

This paper deals with a printed circuit board (PCB) design for an inverter which is highly integrated into a motor housing. The PCB is designed for non stationary working points up to around 500 W. Theoretical design as well as tests are discussed. Some fundamental design rules are described. A practical realization for a large volume production application is given.
