Comparison of Pure-Tone Thresholds and Click-Evoked Auditory Brain Stem Response Thresholds in Noise-Induced Hearing Loss
2010
Background and Objectives: The present study aims were to compare the pure-tone thresholds and click-evoked auditory brain stem response (C-ABR) thresholds in 73 ears with noiseinduced hearing loss. Subjects and Methods: The mean of the pure-tone threshold and CABR threshold results were analyzed for 73 ears with noise-induced hearing loss: the mean of pure-tone thresholds of 1, 2, 3, and 4 kHz, the mean of pure-tone thres-holds of 1, 2, and 3 kHz, the mean of pure-tone thresholds of 1, 2, and 4 kHz, and the mean of pure-tone threshold of 2, 3, and 4 kHz. Results: Results revealed significant findings in the mean of the pure-tone threshold and C-ABR threshold. The correlation coefficients were 0.810 (1, 2, 3, and 4 kHz), 0.848 (1, 2, and 3 kHz), 0.820 (1, 2, and 4 kHz), and 0.793 (2, 3, and 4 kHz) for each of the means of the pure-tone thresholds and C-ABR thresholds. The threshold differences between the mean of the pure-tone thresholds and C-ABR thresholds were -6.9 dB
