Immunoprotection of Hantaan virus envelope glycoproteins G1 and G2 expressed in E.coli

2000
AIM To study the immunoprotection of Hantaan virus envelope glycoproteins G1 and G2 expressed in E.coli . METHODS Mice were immunized with expression G1 andG2, the IFA and neutralizing antibody were tested, and the passive immunoprotection of sera and spleen cells of immunized mice was observed by transfering the sera and spleen cells to fatal Hantaan virus infectious infant mice. RESULTS Antibodies against Hantaan virus could be tested in the sera of the mice immunized with expression G1 and G2, and the IFA antibody titers were 1∶160 and 1∶320 respectively. Expression G2 could stimulate mice to produce neutralizing antibody, the titer being 1∶10, but the neutralizing antibody could not be tested in sera of mice immunized with expression G1. CONCLUSION These findings suggest that the sera and spleen cells of mice immunized with expression G1 and G2 could protect infant mice from death or prolong their life time. It was better in expression G2 than in G1. The maximal protection rates of spleen cells and sera of G2 were 50% and 10% respectively.
