Anticorps monoclonal commercial (monofluokit vrs) pour la détection rapide du virus respiratoire syncytial dans les sécréetions nasales

1986
Summary Commercial monoclonal antibody (monofluokit vrs) for rapid detection of respiratory syncytial virus in nasal secretions The sensitivity and specificity of a commercial monoclonal antibody, Monofluokit VRS (Diagnostics Pasteur), were compared with a classical immunofluorescence test using commercial anti-RSV serum on 334 slides, and with tissue cultures on 274 nasal aspirates from infants: this kit was 90 % sensitive and 97% specific when compared a combination of the latter two tests. Of 191 culture-negative specimens, 18 % were positive with the monoclonal antibody. This test was the most sensitive, and its fluorescent pattern was easily recognized. RSV isolations were positive in 13 % of the VRS-negative specimens with the monoclonal antibody, emphasizing the fact that traditional tissue culture should not be limited to isolation of the other respiratory viruses.
