Modelling and Predictive Control of Water Storage in Soil

Abstract In this paper, the main objective is to control the water storage into the soil in spite of perturbations and uncertainties, assuming the water inflows as the control input. The distribution of the water into the soil is governed by Richards model whose application in control is very complicated due to its non linear structure. So, we use a new approach in modelling of water storage, based on a cascade of reservoirs. The applied control technique is known as the generalised predictive control method.
