Effect of Refining Treatment on Mechanical Properties of Dual Phase Wear-Resistant Steel

2013
The non-metallic inclusions and gas that formed during the vacuum melting in Mn-Si dual-phase high strength low alloy steel will seriously affect the mechanical properties of wear-resistant steel. The refining treatment of liquid steel after vacuum melting was applied by refining technology. The results show that compared with non-refining treatment dual phase wear resistant steel, the content of oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and other harmful elements in the test steel reduced sharply after refining treatment; the morphology of non-metallic inclusions become smaller and round, the number has reduce either. And mechanical property test show that the impact toughness and ductility of the dual phase wear-resistant steel was improved greatly after the process of refining.
