Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans: Comunicación de 3 casos

2013
Argent., 2012, 18(5): 366-370). Palabras clave: dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans: a report of 3 patients Abstra ct Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a slow-growing tumor of the soft tissue of intermediate malignancy, with a high rate of local recurrences. It is the most frequent fibrohistiocytic tumor, comprising approximately 1.8% of all soft tissue sarcomas and 0.1% of all cancers. We report three cases of adult patients, two males and one female, between 27 and 30 years old, who presented clinical and histological findings of DFSP. Two patients refered previous trauma. The treatment in all the cases was conventional surgery with a 3 cm margin. Two patients did not relapse, with an average time of follow-up of 8.3 months. It is important to remember both the high local invasive capacity and the high rate of recurrence of DFSP, and to emphasize the importance of an early diagnosis to perform an accurate and suitable treatment. A long-term follow-up is required, in order to evaluate the possibility of relapses (Dermatol. Argent., 2012, 18(5): 366-370). Keywords: dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
