Estimating the Parameters of an Adiabatic Steam Methane Conversion Reactor with a Regular Catalytic Block
2002
A mathematical model and a computer program are developed for the design of a catalytic block (plane-parallel heat-conducting substrate coated with a thin catalyst layer) for adiabatic steam methane conversion. An experimental rate function for steam methane conversion on a nickel–chromium catalyst is used to estimate the dimensions and flow resistance of the adiabatic reactor at a large stoichiometric excess of steam.
