Hemodialysis in Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetic Patients with End-Stage Renal Failure

1988
Diabetic patients are increasingly being accepted for dialysis. In some areas of the world, such as the Scandinavian countries, the proportion of patients accepted for dialysis who are diabetic now equals that of patients with chronic glomerulonephritis [1–3] and in other areas, such as Minnesota, patients with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus accepted for dialysis now exceed those with chronic glomerulonephritis and hypertension combined. [4–8].
