Developing a Patient Care Information System Strategy

A recent survey of 400 hospital executives revealed that 80 percent were interested in employing patient care information systems in their institutions. Only 8 percent reported having such systems.(1) It can be a long and confusing road, from wanting patient care information systems to using patient care information systems. The journey can be made easier, however, by developing a patient care information system strategy.
