Joining of silicon nitride ceramics to metals: The phase diagram base

Abstract Chemical compatibility of silicon nitride-metal (M) joins at elevated temperatures are assessed by the evaluation of phase diagrams for MSiN systems. Joining strategies are discussed by considering the coexisting phases and their thermal expansion behavior.
