Investigation, devising, and introduction of the technological processes of nitriding steel parts in controlled atmospheres

The newly devised two-stage nitriding process of heat-resistant steel 20Kh3MVFA and of stainless steels 15Kh16N2AM and 06Kh16N2K5AFMB ensures that diffusion layers with better mechanical properties are obtained than by case-hardening or single-state nitriding. 2. The application of the new technological processes of two-stage nitriding instead of case-hardening made it possible to reduce the time of the overall cycle of heat treatment by 20–25% and to increase the contact endurance of parts by 15–20%.
