Rehabilitation of patients with myocardial infarction living in rural areas

: The experience gained in the introduction of new organizational structure for providing emergency cardiac care to rural population was summarized and social effectiveness of rehabilitative treatment of 653 rural patients suffering from acute myocardial infarction was studied. Early and centralized hospitalization of patients with myocardial infarction from rural areas to specialized regional, interregional and district cardiological departments, the practical application of the principle of step-by-step treatment made it possible to improve the quality of treatment, to lower the rates of primary qualification for invalidism up to 21.4 percent and provided an opportunity to rehabilitate during 6 months 77.2 percent of patients. Unsolved issues of improving cardiological care to rural population were also discussed.
