Screening the Effective Parts from Baihu Chengqi Tang on Antipyretic Effect

Objective: To screen the effective parts from Baihu Chengqi Tang for antipyretic effect.Method: The rats were allotted into 13 groups as following: A(normol group),B1,B2,C1,C2,D1,D2,E1,E2,F1,F2,G1,G2,the first rat febrile models was induced by injecting lipopolysaccharide(LPS,20 μg.kg-1) intraperitonealy and treating with five parts from Baihu Chengqi Tang(18.6 g.kg-1) after two hours.The second rat febrile models were induced by injecting 20% fresh yeast subcutaneously 10 mL.kg-1 and treating with five parts from Baihu Chengqi Tang after two hours.Then the rectal temperature was monitored to show the differences of effect from those groups.Result: Butanol and water fractions could reduce the rectal temperature of the rat febrile models(P 0.05);essential oil and petroleum ether and ethyl acetate fractions could not reduce the rectal temperature of the rat febrile models.Conclusion: The results show that essential oil and petroleum ether and ethyl acetate fractions were invalid,butanol and water fractions were the effective of Baihu Chengqi Tang for antipyretic effect.
