Effect of ganglioside on neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy

2019
Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of ganglioside in the treatment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and its effect on acute and long term neurodevelopment. Methods A total of 76 neonates with HIE from January 2017 to March 2018 in the Third People’s Hospital of Yangquan were selected, and they were randomly divided into observation group (38 cases) and control group (38 cases) . The children in the control group were treated with HIE routine therapy, and the children in the observation group were treated with GM1 on the basis of the routine treatment. The therapeutic effect and neurobehavioral improvement before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Both groups were followed up for 12 months to observe the long-term neurobehavior of children. Results The total effective rate (97.37%) in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (84.21%, P 0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, the NBNA scale score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The DQ values at 3 months, 6 months and 12 months of follow-up in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The application of ganglioside in the treatment of neonatal HIE can achieve satisfactory results, which is helpful to improve the clinical efficacy and promote the development of acute and long-term neurological function.
