Defect extraction in weld image based on Generalized Fuzzy Operator

One important step of automatic X-ray inspection is how to extract and segment defects in X-ray inspection image. The processing result has effect on the correctness of next work for the defects recognition. This paper, firstly enhances the weld image by Generalized Fuzzy Operator(GFO). Secondly, morphology is used filtering on the edge of welding line. Finally, the defects are extracted in weld line. The experience shows the defects is extraced effectively by this method. It is the good base of defect recognition.
