Renal transplant care in the home.

1997
As transplantation continues to grow as a medical field, shorter hospital stays have become the norm for transplant recipients. From the pretransplant visit to life after surgery, patients need nursing staff who have both transplant care clinical skills and teaching ability. Pretransplant home intervention allows staff to assess and educate transplant recipients much earlier in the patient's disease process. A well-educated home care team ensures continuity and quality of care for transplant recipients.
