Potentiometric response of poly(vinyl chloride)-valinomycin membrane potassium ions sensors to non-ionic alcohols
1991
The potentiometric response of poly(vinyl chloride)-valinomycin membrane-based potassium ion sensors to low-molecular-weight non-ionic alcohols was studied. The sensors were found to be sensitive to 0.1-10 mM nonan-1-ol, octan-1-ol, heptan-1-ol, hexan-1-ol, benzyl alcohol, 2-phenylethanol and 3-phenylpropan-1-ol in potassium chloride solution. On the other hand, methanol, ethanol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and propane-1,3-diol (up to 100 mM) had no effect on the electrode potential of the sensors
