Evaluation of Sampling Methods of Free Phenol in PF Resin Bonded Panels by Distillation and Cooking

Free phenol in PF bonded panel was collected by steam distillation and cooking,and the feasibility of the two sampling methods was investigated by the authors.The results showed that the distillation efficiency was low,only a little free phenol was collected within 10 hours by steam distillation method(under 75,85 ℃),by cooking method(95 ℃),massive phenol was still not collected after 10 hours and the glue line of PF might be destroyed.It was considered that these two sampling methods were unsuitable for the free phenol collecting from PF resin bonded wood or bamboo panels.
