Diseño de un múltiple de escape (Header Muffler) para competición. Caso de estudio Chevrolet Forsa Motor G13B

2017
The present study deals with the design and construction of an exhaust manifold for competition called the Muffler header, made in 2017 in the Azogues in the 1300 cc G13B SOHC engine of a Chevrolet Forsa II vehicle. A simulation and comparison method is used to analyze the behavior of the exhaust gas flow with respect to its original design and to a craft construction. For this, several mathematical models were used, 3D modeling, CFD simulation with the help of specialized software, construction of a prototype and later assembly in the motor of the vehicle, with the use of a dynamometric bench were realized tests of power, torque and relation Air / fuel, demonstrating through comparative data that the best design was achieved with the analysis of computational fluid dynamics in an adequate geometry of the header, which allowed a greater optimization of engine performance. In conclusion, the modification of the characteristics of this auto parts proposed in this work optimized engine power at 3.3 HP (2.46 KW) and torque at 6.1 lb * ft (8.27 N * m) In the same way it is demonstrated that, with the proposed design, the regulation is fulfilled in relation to the emission of noise, which does not exceed the norm obtaining a scale of 103 dB of a maximum of 120 dB.
