Chloride-related depolarisation of crayfish muscle membrane induced by L-glutamate.
1974
THE action of L-glutamate is localised at the junctional region of the muscle membrane in Crustacea and mimics that of the neurotransmitter in various characteristics. It is therefore possible that L-glutamate is the excitatory transmitter of the crustacean neuromuscular junction1,2.
