Preparation of ylides containing the bis(perfluoroalkanesulphonyl)methylene functionality

Abstract Various ylides containing the bis(perfluoroalkanesulphonyl)methylene functionality,Y +  - C(SO 2 R f ) 2 (YC 5 H 5 N, Ph 3 P, SMe 2 ) have been synthesized by the reaction of phenyliodoniumbis(perfluoroalkanesulphonyl)methide with pyridine, triphenylphosphine anddimethyl sulphide in good yield.
