Artificial skin based on liquid metal sensing

2016
The invention discloses artificial skin based on liquid metal sensing. The artificial skin comprises a cross-linking polymer layer, a liquid metal circuit and a central processing unit. The artificial skin can convert pressure sensed from the outside, elasticity and other tactile senses into deformation of the cross-linking polymer layer; the liquid metal circuit is closely attached to the cross-linking polymer layer, so resistance and capacity of the circuit are changed; then the central processing unit can convert changes of circuit electric signals into neural signals capable of being recognized by human bodies to be transmitted to a nervous system, and accordingly the skin can sense different pressures, elasticity and the like. Flexibility of liquid metal is used, electric properties of the liquid metal circuit are changed through deformation of a substrate, and accordingly the artificial skin has the function of a tactile sensor. Due to the advantages that the artificial skin has the sensitive tactile sensing function and is free of individual difference and convenient to store and transport and the like, the artificial skin can be widely used in skin transplantation and robot bionic skin.
