Quantum Phase Transition of a Spin Coupled with an Engineered Bosonic Reservoir

A scheme to realize a subohmic bosonic reservoir is proposed. The reservoir can be coupled to a spin or two-level system, demonstrating an intriguing quantum phase transition.
