A material to improve the surface appearance of molded cement type objects comprises a polyoxyalkylene compound, which is selected from polyoxypropylene adducts of polyethylene glycol or polyoxyethylene adducts of ethylenediamine, the polyoxypropylene chains being attached to all terminal groups. I, e material may be added to a cementitious composition as an adjuvant, or applied to the surface of a molded article which has not yet been cured.
