1. Remove half the occlusal record (Fig. 6), replace it with autopolymerizing acrylic resin, return it to position, and allow it to set. 2. On removal, trim where indicated, return to the mouth, and adjust as needed. 3. Remove the other half of the registration (Fig. 7), add acrylic resin, reposition in the mouth, and allow to set (Fig. 8). 4. On removal, trim and adjust as needed. 5. Polish the splint, return it to the mouth, and note the presence or absence of the opening and closing click. 6. Evaluate the patient at 1 week, and 1, 3, and 6 months after initiation of therapy.
