Preparation of UV Absorbent films Using Polylactic Acid and Grape Syrup for Food Packaging Application

2020
Abstract According to the recent studies of the detrimental effects of organic adsorbents, these materials are widely used in various applications to prevent ultraviolet radiation damage. In this research, UV absorbent film was prepared by grape syrup (GS) in the matrix of polylactic acid (PLA). For this purpose, the casting method of nanoemulsion was used. UV–Vis results showed that these films can absorb UV rays in the range of 250–400 nm. According to FT-IR results, this behavior was related to the presence of compounds containing functional groups including C C, C O, and O–H.
