The strong growth of the world population increases the demand for food. The chicken and swine are the most exploited sources of protein for human consumption. However, with intensive methods of production, such systems has generated dissatisfaction regarding the environmental aspect and has been questioned about its sustainability. The improper disposal of waste generated in the swin and chicken farms directly affects the quality of the environment and public health. So it must find alternatives to minimize impacts to the environment, improving the utilization and disposal of such waste. The application of these residues in agricultural production areas is conducive to, considering that is a source of nutrients great demand by crops. Also it is a way to sustainable waste disposal, since it promotes its reuse in order not to pollute the environment, and high economic returns. Thus it is possible to combine environmental protection with economic progress.
