Applicazione della separazione idrogravimetrica e magnetica per il recupero di titanio da scarti industriali

1998
A study was conducted to assess a new wet gravity-separation machine, identified as the multy-gravity separator (MGS), in the upgrading of the in sulphuric acid soluble TiO 2 contained in a fine waste of the titanium pigment industry. The waste contains as main components 42% TiO 2 of which 30% is soluble (TiO 2 s) and 12% is not (TiO 2 i) in sulphuric acid, 25% SiO 2 and 6% Al 2 O 3 . The study carried out by means of a two level fractional factorial design (16 runs) indicated that the variables affecting the TiO 2 s grade are the rotational speed and the washwater flow. Magnetic separation as carried out on both the waste as in and the heavy fraction obtained by the gravimetric separator.
