Three-quasiparticle excitations in 79Kr

Abstract The level scheme of 175 Yb has been investigated. In the decay of 15 min 175 Tm, single γ -ray spectra, γ - and βγ -coincidence spectra were measured by means of Ge(Li) and scintillation detector spectrometry. Many new γ -ray transitions have been observed. Several new levels above 1 MeV could be introduced into the 175 Yb level scheme, four of them probably being connected with three-quasiparticle excitations. An attempt to measure the lifetime of the strongly excited level at 1496.7 keV resulted in an upper limit of 0.1 ns.
