Analyze on Space Target Detection Capability of Ground-based Radar Based on STK

2019
The STK (Systems Tool Kit) is used to study the space target detection capability of ground-based radar. Based on radar equation, the influencing factors of radar detection ability are analyzed from three kinds of parameters: system constant, statistical variable and atmospheric environment. The quantitative relationship between radar range, radar elevation and target height is calculated and given. In view of the limitation of STK phased array antenna model, considering the size constraints of mobile radar, a parabolic antenna is selected and a STK-based ground radar model is constructed by combining radar mode, transmitter, receiver and other components. The main performance parameters of the radar system are given. Case simulation is carried out for FIA5 satellite, the simulation results show that the ground-based radar can effectively detect and track the target 158s and the detection range of the target is 1094.8-1223.5km.
