Synthesis, structure and photoluminescence properties of silver(I) coordination polymers with bis(4-pyridyl)benzylamine

Abstract Silver(I) coordination polymers, [Ag(bpba)(CF 3 SO 3 )]·0.5CH 3 CN ( 1 ) and [Ag 2 (bpba) 2 (NO 3 ) 2 ]·CH 3 CN·H 2 O ( 2 ) with bis(4-pyridyl)benzylamine (bpba) have been prepared and structurally characterized. 1 shows two-dimensional structure formed by the offset π–π stacking interactions between ladder-like chains, whereas 2 displays three-dimensional network linked by one-dimensional chains with 8-shaped. Different from 1 , 2 appears a strong visible emission ranging from 450 to 550 nm.
