Managing Complications in Augmentation Mastopexy

2020
Augmentation mastopexy is often thought of as a complex aesthetic breast surgery procedure where the number of complications associated with the combined operation are greater than those observed with either augmentation or mastopexy alone. For this reason, many strategies for complication avoidance have been developed to variously manage these outcomes. However, once a complication has occurred, a considered and precise surgical plan targeted at the root cause of the problem is required to appropriately restore the breast to an aesthetic appearance. This chapter will outline the complications commonly seen after augmentation mastopexy and provide surgical solutions based on sound surgical principles to allow successful management of these difficult patients.
