Method and apparatus for preventing key input malfunction of a portable terminal

PURPOSE: Key input mistake prevention method and apparatus for a portable terminal is provided to prevent the input of nearby keys except for an input key. CONSTITUTION: A key input mistake prevention method for a portable terminal comprises the following steps: checking input keys using a controller when the input of keys is detected(401,403); checking nearby keys around the input keys, and locking the nearby keys using the controller(405,407); and processing the input of the input keys, detecting a key release on the input keys, and unlocking the nearby keys using the controller(409,411,413).
