Neoadjuvant treatment in a Mexican cohort of patients with locally advanced rectal cancer: Oncologic outcomes and prognostic factors.

704Background: Preoperative chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by total mesorectal excision (TME) and adjuvant chemotherapy (CT) is the standard of care for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) consists of induction CT followed by CRT prior to surgery. This is an alternative strategy recommended in guidelines. Objective: To describe neoadjuvant strategies, oncologic outcomes and prognostic factors in a cohort of patients (pts) with LARC treated at a referral center in Mexico City. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed medical records from pts with LARC (T3-T4 or N+) treated with any neoadjuvant strategy at Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Medicas y Nutricion “Salvador Zubiran” from January 2010 to December 2015. Clinical and pathological information was registered. Survival was estimated by Kaplan-Meier method.
