Green organometallic chemistry: CpFe+-induced amination of chloroarenes in water

Abstract Reaction of NH 3 , primary amines and non-bulky secondary amines with the complexes [Fe II Cp(η 6 -ArCl)][X] (Ar=C 6 H 5 or o -C 6 H 4 Cl, X=Cl, BF 4 or PF 6 ) in water at room temperature gives the nucleophilic substitution products [Fe II Cp(η 6 -ArNR 1 R 2 )][X] isolated as PF 6 salts.
