La Mesure en Continu des Sulfates par Photometrie de Flamme

1984
A commercial flame Photometric detector (FPD) normally used for SO2 determinations has been adapted to continuous sulfate measurements in ambient air. As described, the modification consisted in adapting an appropriate inlet system composed of a coated lead dioxide denuder for the removal of gaseous sulfur Compounds, and a controlled heater to maintain a steady flame inside the detector. With a detection limit of the order of 4 µg SO4 /m3, the modified analyser can be favourably used for comparative measurements.
