The invention discloses a synthesis method of ethyl methyl-(3-oxo-propyl)phosphinate. The method comprises the following steps: by using anhydrous ethanol as a solvent and glacial acetic acid, acrolein and diethyl methylphosphite as raw materials, performing mixing, and performing heating and distillation to obtain the ethyl methyl-(3-oxo-propyl)phosphinate. Compared with the Japanese Meiji Seika patent, the yield is obviously enhanced to 93.3% which is approximate to the yield of the product in the Hoechst patent; and the method disclosed by the invention avoids the safety and occupational injuries caused by the generated aether, conforms to the clean production requirements, and has higher practicality.
