Relationship between angiotensin converting enzyme gene polymorphism and atherosclerotic cerebral infarction

Objective To explore the distribution of angiotensin converting enzyme gene I/D polymorphism in the patients with cerebral infarction(CI) and the relationship with CI.Methods 150 patients with CI and 90 healthy control subjects were carried out gene identification,and the results were compared.Results The incidence rate of the DD genotype in CI group was higher obviously than this in control group(42.7% and 24.4%,P0.05).OR of DD genotype was 0.769.Conclusion The polymorphism of ACE gene DD is closely related with CI and it is a risk factor of CI.
