Isolation and identification of a novel flavonoid from Penthorum chinense P

A novel flavonoid, pinocembrin-7-O-[3″-O-galloyl-4″,6″-hexahydroxydiphenoyl]-β-glucose (1) was isolated from the whole plant of Penthorum chinense P., along with four known compounds, pinocembrin-7-O-β-glucoside, quercitrin, quercetin-3-O-rhamnoside and gallic acid. The structures were established by spectroscopic analysis.
