The article considers the system of public security in the Russian Federation, the police reform and partnership as a model of interactions between citizens and the police. The experience of cooperation between the police and society in foreign countries is analyzed. The concept of police work with the population is defined as a traditional community-oriented style of law enforcement activities. The audit of internal affairs agencies is regarded as a traditional instrument of the civil authorities' control over law observance by the police and the administration. The work of police agencies in social networks in order to strengthen the interaction with the population at the community and individual level is examined. Such work ensures the dialogue and feedback between the public and the police and improves public confidence in the police.
