The invention discloses a composition for preserving epidermal growth factor activity for a long time. The composition comprises a preservative, a protective agent and a phosphate buffer solution and preferably comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 0.00001-0.05% of EGF, 0.001-5.00% of the preservative and 0.01-25.00% of the protective agent and 0.01-0.1mol/L phosphate buffer solution with a pH value of 6-8 is used as the solvent. The preservative mainly comprises phenoxyethanol, DMDM hydantoin, benzyl alcohol, benzoic acid, methylisothiazolinone, propyl hydroxybenzoate and methylparaben; the protective agent mainly comprises hydrolyzed collagen, marine collagen, hydrolyzed wheat protein, sodium hyaluronate, amino acid, dextran and trehalose, ascorbic acid, hydrolyzed wheat protein, sodium hyaluronate, amino acid, glucan, mycose, ascorbic acid, water soluble vitamin E, chitosan and silk peptide; experiments prove that the composition can effectively alleviate the degradation of EGF and keep the bioactivity of EGF.
