Discussion on Simulation of Distillation Operation in Rotating Packed Bed by ASPEN PLUS

The distillation process of ethanol-water in rotating packed bed was simulated by ASPEN PLUS soft-ware,which is used in chemical processes extensively.Process of logistics,selection of unit operation modules,sensitivity analysis and calculation method in the design were studied.The results showed that,in low rotating speed,theoretical plate number of the rotating packed bed increases with increasing of the gas-kinetic factors F and the high gravity factors β,the height of mass-transfer unit(HTU)is 0.9～1.2 cm.Mass transfer model was estab-lished.The conclusions by model agreed with the original design data,implying that the model established can be used in process optimal design.
