The study of sound absorption in water

2007
Absorption of sound having frequency 1 kHz and intensity 10−15–10−14 W/cm2 was investigated in distilled water under various conditions of sample illumination and treatment with magnetic field and ultrasound. The difference in sound signal absorption in water under unequal conditions is explained by variation of viscosity due to changes in structural state of water, in particular destruction or formation of clusters.
