[Animal traditions is one of the main element in “Tolkappiyam” which largely emphasized in “Mathuraikanji”. This continually expand the origin whereby the origin and context of animal traditions are actively used in “Tolkappiyam”. However, the usage of animal traditions slowly decline and neglected in the context of today. Therefore, this paper will discuss the transformations of animal traditions which mainly discuss about, “Kaliru”, “Umbai”, “Iralai”, “Pinai”, “Pidi”, “Maa”, “kezhal”, “ Yaanai”, “Puli” and “Kuthirai”.]
