A transplant plug technique for production of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) plants from somatic embryos

A transplant plug technique was developed that uses in vitro somatic embryogenesis techniques to mass-multiply alfalfa plants in a form suitable for direct transplanting. The plug contains potting media covered with an agar nutrient cap.
